Audacity 1.3.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

do not install audacity 1.2.x, it doesn't work very well on recent macs. You should stick to the 1.3.x version
Include as much details as you can in your post (Audacity version, Operating System, Equipment used, etc).
Please post your question in the appropriate forum (regarding audacity version and operating system).

Dear Bill I thank you because after all the steps that you made me do, now I finally managed to make a perfect recording.
Thanks for the support and generosity. In your opinion, at this point, what was the problem? You think I have to redo the last step every time you wrote me?
Thanks again, I see that today was released the new version for Mac, I suggest installing one?

It seems that your "audacity.cfg" file was corrupted. Now that you have trashed it and started clean, you should not have to do that again. Glad to hear that it is working.
