I am using Audacity 1.3.4 on Windows XP.
Two different computers, one a Pavillion, one a gateway tablet pc, but both have same problem.
When i record in from a Yamaha keyboard, it records to a stereo track, though both tracks have the same waveform. If I split the track, then make one a Mono track, the Gain and Pan controls disappear. if I rejoin it to the other track it comes back, and if i join it to another track it comes back, but i need to be able to adjust the volume on a single mono track. Is this not possible?

Re: Audio Track controls disappearing
Apologies if this is a dumb question, but is there a blank space where the sliders should be or are the is the track display too narrow? I can't replicate the problem you're having (Audacity changing the height itself), but if you move the bottom of a track display up the Gain and Pan sliders are hidden.

I think a screen shot of this would help us understand the problem - are you able to post one Santanada?
