Greetings,
I am a new Audacity user, and am having some difficulties. When trying to import an MP3 file as an audio source, it is opening in Audacity as a Mono file instead of a Stereo file. I've been pouring over settings and help files, but cannot seem to find the fix on my own. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.

Re: Import in Mono
i'm a new user too diva and don't know much about it at present, so i'm not sure if this will answer your question. but you can turn a mono file into stereo by doing 'select all' on your track, then copy, click on the area below the track and paste, you will have two tracks running together. then to the left of the two tracks will be a button you can click to get a drop down menu then choose to create a stereo track..?

Re: Import in Mono
Audacity waked up from First Birthday in Mono. Change in the Preferences > Audio I/O panel and then restart Audacity.
