Streamed Audio Recording Possibly Not at Correct Sample Rate

Post by Chuck17 » Thu Feb 14, 2008 5:18 pm

I've been trying to make recordings of streamed audio (Stereo Mix). Everything appears to go smoothly, however when I play it back, the recording is sped up (like a record playing too fast). I'm using the default sample rate (44,100) on a WinXP (SP2) machine with a Soundblaster card (came with Gateway computer).

I know I can correct this issue by applying an effect (slow it down), however, it appears to be a clumsy way of fixing the problem and I'm not exactly sure how much "slowing down" it needs (can guess at percetage to make it sound right). To fix this problem, I feel that I should be using a different sample rate when recording, but I don't know what to use!

Please help...
