i am thinking that the lamdba drivers only allow you to run one sound app at a time. i've tried several configs and nothing works. or..its this version of vista i dunno. again i can only have one thing open at a time that generates sound. so if i am watching a movie or listening to an mp3 i cannot have any other sound prog or app running. how is this full duplex lol. i miss being able to sample off of youtube. ps i hope im posting in the right place if i'm not i am sorry im sorta new to bbs boards

"Full duplex" just means that it can transmit and receive data simultaneously (record and play) - it does not suggest that the device can/cannot be accessed by more than one application at a time.

The issue is most likely to be due to the device drivers (or just the way you have them set up).
The audio system architecture on Vista is not at all nice for audio recording (which is one of the main reasons that many musicians have stuck with XP or upgraded to Linux or Mac). Also, shortly before Microsoft released Vista they made major changes to how the sound system works, putting many sound card manufacturers in a difficult position of having no Vista support for their hardware - the result of this was than many sound cards were released with Vista drivers that had been cobbled together in a hurry and did not work very well. If you have not done so already I would check to see if there are any updated drivers available.

We do try to support all issues regarding using Audacity, but for hardware specific issues you would probably be better to look to the hardware manufacturer. I don't think that any of the regular contributors to this forum have a Lexicon Lambda, so help with this device on this forum is likely to be very limited.
