I am a newbie here and, as advised, I have read the note on Windows Vista and Audacity but I still can't record radio programmes (All I get is low-volume, indistinct sound quality).
When I go to the AudioI/O tab I see the following options for Recording Device:
Microsoft Sound Mapper- input
Microphone Array Sigma Tel High
Which should I select?
In tne SOUND tab of the Control Panel I see the following devices in the Recording Panel:
Microphone Array which is ticked as Working.
Microphone/Line In which is "Not Plugged In". How do I plug this in? I am using a laptop.
Sorry for all these questions but this problem is driving me around the proverbial bend! Thanks in anticipation.
Persistent problem. Please help.

Re: Persistent problem. Please help.
Vista did open up whole vistas of software changes and unforseen tool surprises.
If the Audacity help pages didn't help or the help didn't work, then you may need a third party capture software package. I use Total Recorder. I have no idea if it will run on Vista. I bought the Pro version and I've been very happy with it.
