Re: struggling newbie
Do I understand your question - You're trying to open a "read me" file in Audacity in order to read it?? It's a text file, use Notepad or Wordpad.
Re: struggling newbie
If you just double click on the README file it will probably open in Notepad. However it is a bit difficult to read in Notepad because of the formatting, so better to open in WordPad. (You can even open it in MS Word if you like).

desperate and exhausted - please help
Hi - i don't know where to post this or how to start a new post string. i've been working for several hours on a project and my computer crashed. i can see all the temp files saved in the temp directory (they are saved as winamps and they play in winamp). but i never saved it as a project. audacity said i could recover it but i don't know how. please help.

Once you have registered and gone to the appropriate board, simply click on the "New Topic" buttonbarry wrote:Hi - i don't know where to post this or how to start a new post string.
Recovering data after a crash is far from perfect and sometimes just doesn't work, however if you want to give it a go there's information about how to do it here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... shRecoveryi've been working for several hours on a project and my computer crashed. i can see all the temp files saved in the temp directory (they are saved as winamps and they play in winamp). but i never saved it as a project. audacity said i could recover it but i don't know how. please help.
