I have all of the data but when I click file nothing loads
I have a 1.2 gig concert recording and when I click the .aup file to open it audacity opens but no sound is shown. I just have a blank audacity document. I have ALL of the sound clips and when placed into audacity each is like a 6 second clip of the show. This is a problem with both my mac and windows computers. Is there any way to get all of the data onto one track sequentially?

Audacity projects are not easily transportable. The .aup file references the audio data, but for it to do so successfully it needs to know the correct path to the files. If you have moved (or deleted) any of the files that the project uses, you will have problems. You may be able to move the files back to the original locations to make it work by opening Audacity, then select from the "File" menu "Open", then browse to the .aup file and open it.

The AUP file is a plain text document. You can open it up in TextEdit and read it.
It's computer information, but sometimes you can get it to tell you where it put stuff.

That's a small portion of an AUP file I have, and even though the AUP file is on an external FireWire drive, that's where it thinks my sound file is--on the System Drive. And it is correct.
We warn people that projects are clouds of files and they're very difficult to change manually or move. Never "clean up" before you export a finished show.
