popping sound

Hello

I need help. I have installed and remove audacity 3 times. I cannot record. When I hit the record button. It pop and the sounds gets louder. You don't hear the person's voice. only the popping sound. Please help. I have tried everything.

That doesn't actually reinstall Audacity. You also have to remove the preference files. The Windows people will be along shortly to show you how to do that.

What person? We can't see your computer or you. What are you trying to record or where are they?

I'm guessing you are listening to the voice on the computer speakers while you are recording, and you are getting feedback.
There are two ways to fix this:
1. Use headphons to listen while recording.
or
2. In Edit > Preferences > Recording, turn off Software Playthrough.
