Hey, so I recently had troubles with audacity and recording, and I was helped, and everything was going perfect. Basically I have two CDJ's with a mixer, and I am using Serato. Basically, every time I record a mix (anything from 30 min-1 hour) and I hit on the stop button after I am finished, I get a message saying Audacity has crashed, and I need to close the program. I have no other choice but to close the program, and when Audacity attempts to recover my files, it doesn't recover them.
This issue first started when I upgraded my Serato 1.9 to a beta of Serato 2.0. When I downgraded however, I could record again. Only since yesterday, did the problem come back. I was streaming/recording and when I pressed stop in audacity it crashed instantly. I thought it could be the fact that I was streaming, however I just did a one hour mix, and the problem happened to me again. Is there any way to fix this issue? And also is there any way to recover the old mix I did?
Thanks.
Also, it isn't a CPU/RAM issue. I have 4GB DDR3 RAM and a Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz.

Re: Crashing after recording something long
need more info
what version of audacity
how much free unfragmented disk space
waht options/settings on all the software that is involved
describe all the hardware with make/model etc in detail
what benefit did the beta of serato promise to have ?
best to avoid betas if you already have a working program.

Because of that, can we assume you're in Vista or Win7? Support for the very old Audacity 1.2 is getting ratty. The elves are using Audacity 1.3 for their production work and we recommend you do, too.

You can safely put both versions on your machine but only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2

I had Audacity 1.2.6. I will make sure to upgrade, and hopefully this will solve the problem. Thanks a ton! And yes, I am on Vista 32bit.kozikowski wrote:<<<Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53GHz.>>>
