I've just downloaded and installed 1.3.3 and can't find where to set the bit rate for MP3 Export. In 1.3.2 and previous versions it was in Preferences...File Formats - but the Bit Rate box isn't there in the latest version.
Is it hidden somewhere else?
Cheers,

Re: Change MP3 bitrate
It's now in the export menu. On the same dialog box that you type the name of the file into, there's a button labeled Options. That's the one you want.
Re: Change MP3 bitrate
Thanks for that. I did actually look there, but missed the Options button. I suppose I was looking for a small Bit Rate window, as in previous versions.

I've not read this full thread, but you realise that you are posting on the end of a topic that is over 3 years old?
In Audacity 1.3.12, in the Export dialogue screen (where you select "MP3" or "WAV" or whatever Export format) there is a button that says "Options".
If the button is not there, then you may be using an obsolete version of Audacity. Audacity 1.3.12 for Windows is available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows
