I have Windows Xp, I have the file in .mp3 format, and I can't do anything!
All I want to do is change the pitch, and when I go under effects I can't click on anything, is there a certain way or form I have to do it? All I want to do is change the pitch!
I can't get anything to work!

Re: I can't get anything to work!
Let's take this one step at a time.
You got the song into Audacity and you can play it, right, and it sounds OK? You know the spacebar will play and stop? It's a lot easier that way than hitting those silly buttons.
Edit > Select > All
Effect > Change Pitch
...and pick the direction you want to go and the key signature. Like Up from C to C-Sharp. Apply the filter and play the cut. It should play in the new key. You need to know that Audacity will change the duration of the performance slightly as it does this. There are tools provide to change semi-tones in both directions, but you need to be a little more techie to get those to work.
