I am having a lot of aggravation with the LAME enc dll download. I cannot get it to work in converting the audacity file to an mp3.
I can turn the sound file into an Audacity, but cannot get the file to convert to mp3. When I click on "Search Library" I get a msg. that I have to download LAME. It wouldn't matter if I downloaded it 10 or 100 times; it does NOT work!
I use Windows XP, Audacity 1.2.6, and Finale 2010. I keep getting this error msg. that tells me I have to download the LAME_enc_dll, even though I've put it into the audacity folder.
My e-mail address is [email protected], if you want to send instructions.
Thanks in advance.
Mimi

Re: Problem with getting LAME download to work
After you have downloaded lame_enc.dll you still have to tell Audacity where to find it.
Go to Edit > Preferences > File Formats > MP3 Export Setup and click on "Find Library".
Click "Yes" to the question "Would you like to locate Lame_enc.dll now?" and browse to the file in the window that appears. Click on the file and click OK in the Preferences dialog. Audacity should now find it when you go to export as mp3.
