I am recording some internet radio. The audio input meters show the activity. To test the recording I stopped the recording , returned to the beginning and clicked play. The output meter shows activity- but I hear nothing from the speakers (speakers work and have volume up). What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Re: Play back not working
It's hard to say from that.
Have you had Audacity up & running properly in the past?
Can you hear other audio tracks in Audacity (import an MP3 to test)
Can you hear anything else - anything at all - from the PC, streamed internet audio, the windows default sounds, ...
Is anything set to 'mute' in the sound control panel?

Re: Play back not working
If you are converting from vinyl or MD try unplugging the usb cable from the computerafter you have saved. As long as it's plugged in, Audacity is "waiting" to receive. Not sure this is the recommended way but it worked for me. It's fiddly and you have to remember to put it back next time.
