I just loaded Audacity on my Mac. I am a bit confused. In following the instructions that came with the audio-technica turntable that I got for Xmas, in Audio I/O in the preferences, it says that I should choose "Built-in Audio" but my only choices are "Speakers" or "USB Audio CODEC". The instructions also tell me to choose settings in the Audio MIDI setup. For the Default Output and the System Output tab it says that I should choose "Built-In Audio". Again I only have 2 choices "Speakers" and "USB Audio CODEC". Bottom line when I try to playback something i just recorded I cannot hear anything and i suspect it is related to these settings. I am running a Mac Cube with 10.4.11. Any help would be appreciated.

Mac 0S X 10.3 and earlier are no longer supported but you can download legacy versions of Audacity for those systems HERE.
