Hi,
I'm copying records, usually about 20 minutes per side. Is there a way of telling Audacity to stop recording after a certain time period, say 30 minutes?

Audacity version 1.2.x has no timers.
You might look into the 1.3 version of the program. I don't know anything about that one except it has a lot more features and is the base program for the forthcoming 1.4 release.
You can load both 1.2.x and 1.3.x on your machine at the same time. (Although I wouldn't run them that way.)

Thanks for replying. Sorry about the delay in replying. (I just realized that I didn't have the automatic notification ticked.)
What would be the point in having both 1.2.6 (which is what I have) and 1.3, i.e. is there something that 1.2.6 can do that 1.3 can not?

AFAIK 1.3 can do everything that 1.2.6 does and much more - though 1.3 does somethings in a slighly different way to 1.2. The allleged benefit of 1.2.6 is that it is the officially declared stable version. I personally have been using 1.3.x for LP concersion/cleanup for several months now and it has proved eminently stable for this relatively modest task.
Anyway, there is no sizable software package anywher that is totally bug-free - it's just a fact of life.
You may elect to use 1.2.6 for a one-off concert played on the radio that was un-reproducable if you missed it - but I use 1.3 for this too (I like the timer record feature).
The only reason that I even keep 1.2 on my PC is so that I can refer to it to answer 1.2.x questions on the forum.
