VST Enabler

Post by rixanon » Fri Jan 08, 2010 10:00 pm

i put vst-bridge.dll in my audacity plugin folder and ran it with vstmonitor.dll being in the plugins directory as well. vstmonitor.dll was taken out the steinberg vst sdk zip file and put into the audacity plugins dir. i also put lame_enc.dll in the plugins dir. and gsnap.dll. nothing working. just deleted, totally, an install of fl studio(fruity loops). i heard that would screw it up. i completely deleted vstplugins dir for fl studio in c: . cant get vst enabler to display in the effects menu.

In Audacity Version 1.3.8 and later, you can use VST plug-ins without the VST enabler.
In fact, you should delete the VST enabler, as it makes effects appear twice in the menu.

See this article about VST plug-ins, which gives the details, and also lists plug-ins that do, and some that don't, work with Audacity.
