Hello,
A user can draw a curve in the Equalizer effect GUI. However, I need to draw a curve and send it to a colleague:
so I need the possibility to draw a curve, save it into a file, send the file to my colleague, and that he can load the curve in the equalizer from this file.
Moreover, I would prefer to use a text editor to design a precise curve (rather than using the GUI).
Is it possible to save/load a curve into the equalizer? how?
When I draw a custom curve and give it a name, is this curve saved into a file somewhere? where?
Regards,
DAvid

EQ curves are saved in a file called "EQcurves.xml". It is in <your home>/Library/Application Support/audacity/.
If you carefully edit this xml file in TextEdit you can create curves to your heart's content. You could also send an appropriate portion of the curve to your friend who could paste it into the file.

Oops. I see you are in the 1.2.x forum. The above applies to Audacity 1.3.x. You may want to upgrade. AFAIK 1.2.x does not allow saving of custom EQ curves.

Great, I modified that file and it works. Thanks!billw58 wrote:EQ curves are saved in a file called "EQcurves.xml". It is in <your home>/Library/Application Support/audacity/.
That was my fault. I am actually using 1.3.9.billw58 wrote:Oops. I see you are in the 1.2.x forum. The above applies to Audacity 1.3.x. You may want to upgrade. AFAIK 1.2.x does not allow saving of custom EQ curves.

Sure. I've emailed equalizer curves to people.
I swear I did it in the earlier version, tho... I've only been using 1.3.7 for a really short time.

This is the low cut filter characteristic of the Shure Brothers microphone filter.

I have the data file around here somewhere.
.....OK. Maybe I don't. I can't find it on the web site. Perhaps I couldn't save it because it can't be done in 1.2.
