echo problem

Hi
Icant seem to get the echo effect out of anything I record.
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing you're recording streaming audio from the Stereo Mix (or equivalent) input.

I'm also guessing you have "Software Playthrough" turned on in Audacity's eidt -> preferences -> audio i/o menu. That's the most common cause of this problem.

If you have a different issue, you have to describe it to us.

i unchecked the playthrough and that took care of the problem.
