Won't do what I "tell" it to do

Post by jadmaldonado » Wed Dec 09, 2009 5:31 am

I think that I am telling the program to cut and it seems like it is but then when I play it , it hasn't done it. See my other post, please.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

First, don't double -- or triple post. We all see all the posts.

Second, when you do something like this, it's traditional to include a link so we don't have to go cranking all through hundreds of posts looking for yours.

Further, see other post.

First of all, while I did welcome all help or advice, if it is such as inconvenience or annoyance, by all means move on.

Second of all, I did search other posts and could not find any directly related to my "problems" as I am having more than one, therefore the two posts.

Thirdly, since you are obviously well versed in the website and possible links, I truly would be appreciative if you could direct me to these other related posts or offer advice directly related to my problem.

Truly, thank you for your time. Have a good night.

Hi jadmaldonado,
Don't be put-off or upset by Koz's terse comments, we do understand that not everyone is familiar with using forums, but I hope that you can also understand that at times it can be pretty frustrating for those people that are giving their time to try and help other users.

A few guidelines that will help you to get the best out of this forum (and also other help forums):

1) Try searching the forum for similar issues - this may give you an answer more quickly than waiting for a reply. (I understand that you did this ;)
2) Try and post in the most appropriate place - so for this forum that means, if you use Audacity 1.2.6 on Windows Vista, post in the "Audacity 1.2.x > Windows" section.
3) Try to make the title brief and descriptive - this can help other people that have similar issues later on.
4) Avoid multiple posts - keep to one issue at a time in one topic - believe me, it gets really confusing if you don't do this.
5) Be descriptive and give as much information as may be relevant - remember, no-one can see over your shoulder so you need to paint a clear mental picture.
6) Too much information is better than not enough - when there's any chance that it may be relevant, include model numbers and version numbers
7) Include the exact version number of the Audacity that you are using, and state which version of Windows.

Let's shift the conversation over to the other thread so that we don't get all confused: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 11&t=18980
