Audacity executing commands when I name a file
I've had this problem for a while now. Whenever I export a file as an MP3, whenever I'm trying to type the filename, Audacity is executing commands on the project, as though I were holding the command key down (which I'm not). For instance, when I type an "a" in the file name, it executes a "select all." I'm not having this problem in any other programs. Any thoughts?
Re: Audacity executing commands when I name a file
This has been a problem in a couple old versions of Audacity and has been fixed. Upgrade to the latest 1.3 version

Yes. Stop using Audacity 1.2 Modern Macs do not support Audacity 1.2.
I'm comfortable with Audacity 1.3.7 from here...
Audacity 1.3.7 -- Mac
http://audacity.googlecode.com/files/au ... -1.3.7.zip
...or you can grab the current 1.3 issue from here...

It's possible in certain circumstances that you can delete the Audacity Preferences file and this problem will go away. This process returns Audacity to First Birthday status, so know or write down what all your custom changes were.

Re: Audacity executing commands when I name a file
Missed a step.
You can install both 1.2 and 1.3 as long as you only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 Projects will not open in 1.2.

Re: Audacity executing commands when I name a file
Wow - thanks for the quick reply. I'm running Snow Leopard on a first-gen Intel MacBook, and when I tried to run Audacity 1.3, it was crashing constantly. I'll try trashing the prefs on 1.2 and see if that helps. I'm about to upgrade to a MBP, so hopefully this issue won't plague me too much longer.
