Converting 48khz to 44.1khz

Post by globex » Sat Nov 24, 2007 8:00 pm

How do I convert (downgrade) a song that's in 48khz to 44.1khz without messing up the speed/sound of the song?

Import into audacity, change the Project rate at the bottom of the screen to 44100Hz, then Project > Quick Mix or Project Mix 'n Render (depending on audacity version, you'll only have one or the other). Now your track is at the new sample rate.

The responder stated "Quick Mix or Project Mix 'n Render (depending on audacity version, you'll only have one or the other)."

I cannot find either in v2.2.1. Did Audacity do away with this feature, or is there another way to save a 98KHz file as, say, 48KHz, without slowing down the audio speed?

Never mind. I figured out that resampling is under "Tracks."
