I am attempting to record via mic a sound track to use in a live drama. During the drama I will use prerecorded sound bites at the cue. I don't have a CD recorder that makes tracks on the CD as I record. I use audacity to record all of my recordings (house of worship setting).
In my research I found that one can split the sound track in Audicity. I followed the instructions and was able to seperate the test recording into 4 tracks. I then exported into WAV file>burned cd using itunes.
However, I was under the impression that the tracks would be 4 individual tracks (such as music track you purchase) when I played the CD, which would allow me to start and stop at each cue (track) in the program. Have I missed something or will the tracks not show individually on the cd?
I hope I have explaned this so one can understand my question.
splitting recordings into separate tracks

Are these the instructions you followed?

Yes, these are the instructions I followed. If I do everything correctly, should the tracks show (track 1, track 2, etc) on Windows media player when I play the CD as they would with a music CD?

Re: splitting recordings into separate tracks
After the "Export Multiple" step in those instructions you should have 4 separate WAV files named according to the labels you made. If you have only one WAV file you've missed a step.
