Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Audacity disapears when "restored down" unless maximized

Post by migueford » Wed Nov 11, 2009 3:14 am

I dont know what I did, I was working just fine with audacity, I made the window smaller, then I maximized back.. then I restored it down and instead of becoming smaller it disappeared, its still open as I can still see the audacity minimized on the task bar. Since then I can only see audacity if I maximize its window. This sux!!!

Does anyone know how to solve this issue ??

For some reason, it appears your default window size, stored in Audacity preferences, has been changed to zero.

Unfortunately, in version 1.2.x, Audacity preferences are stored in the Windows Registry.
You can reset them by editing the registry, but be warned:

Making a mistake in editing the Windows Registry can seriously mess up your computer.

This article in the wiki

http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php? ... _stored.3F

tells you how to edit the registry, if you feel confident to do it, and also offers a "Safe Solution" which is recommended rather than editing the registry.
