Super slow

Hi,
Bit of a newbie question. When I try to make a mix from vinyl it seriously slows down and often crashes after about 30 mins. Is this normal?

Fill in the holes. How are the machines connected? USB? Model numbers? Who made the turntable. Which Mac?
