Why is my podcast not letting me record more than 1min 44sec
Alright so this is my first podcast ever and I'm completely confused. First every time i press stop and then try and record again it starts a whole new bar, is that normal? Am I supposed to do it without stopping and the edit? Also I'm on like 6 different bars now and once I got to 1:44 it won't let me record anymore. I need to do a 4 min podcast by tomorrow. hELP!

Yes, starting recording a new track after pressing stop is normal. If you want to continue recording on the same track, hold down SHIFT while you click record. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... ol_Toolbarbear1819 wrote:Alright so this is my first podcast ever and I'm completely confused. In Recording Preferences http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... references do you have "Overdub" checked? When this option is checked, and there is a selection (for example, your first track which I'm guessing is 1:44), recording will only take place for the duration of the selection. Click the "Skip to Start" button before starting a new recording, or uncheck "Overdub".
You can combine your six tracks into one using the Time Shift Tool http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... _and_Clips
You don't need to stop every time you make a mistake. Just pause and pick up again at a natural break (like the beginning of a sentence). Then go back end edit out the mistakes. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... ound_Music
Hope this helps.
