Pitch error while recording
After recording audio I sometimes hear a higher pitch when replaying the recorded part. I can easily reproduce this by recording say 10 seconds, stop the recording, undo the recording with Ctrl-Z, re-record in the same way. Mostly after restarting Audacity the recording is OK again. But in some cases recording starts at the wrong high pitch immediately. And I know of no way to check on that other than at the end (one hour later). I can also reproduce by recording a few seconds, stop recording, restart recording (in a new track).

Re: Pitch error while recording
Martin Stolp,
You can try changing the Project Rate in the lower left-hand corner of the Audacity screen. The default is 44100, but your sound card may be finicky at this rate. Also, check out this post: recording plays slower than should be
Of course, once you have made a recording at the wrong speed, you may be able to "fix" it by changing the Project rate, or by using Effect > Change Speed.
I hope this helps.
