V. 1.3.9, Imported .WAVs are oversaturated and unusable. I've tried multiple .WAVs, they all sound like I've pegged the meter way high. Other applications open these WAVs just fine. If I open the WAV file and save it in Audacity as a WAV file, then open THAT WAV file, everything works.
Re: Imported .WAVs are oversaturated and unusable.
To complicate this question ( sorry I have no answer)
I use kabelradio digital; it is connected with my pc by a decoder and a optical-tube.
When I have play the radio I hear it by recording on audacity. All is fine !!
But there some stations who play and record to high and to quick. Perhaps you can say some radiostations are oversaturated.
Of course you can correct the result of recording but it is very diffulcult to find the right high and quickness.
Is there a possibility to get this right ?
Thanks for any reaction

This does not happen with my 1.3.9 installation (on Windows XP-HE). I just tested it with a couple of WAV files that I created last week and they import (and open) at exactly the same amplitude tha I exported them at last week. So I'm puzzled.basilwhite wrote:V. 1.3.9, Imported .WAVs are oversaturated and unusable.

Try exiting Audacity then open the audacity.cfg settings file in a text editor and removewaxcylinder wrote:This does not happen with my 1.3.9 installation (on Windows XP-HE).
