Okay so I wanted to just casually go about faffing in Audacity, but then upon opening the .exe, it crashed. I tried again, and it crashed. Then I got the idea to check the plug-ins folder. I didn't find any anomalies. Then I cut and pasted it somewhere else, so Audacity can't find it. Then it worked. Put it back. Crashed.
Anyway, eventually I learn that all of a sudden, after x years of being an Audacity regular, that the VST enabler is causing the issue.
Any advice? It really was just a spontaneous thing.

Less likely the enabler than one of your plugins.

Re: VST Enabler causing crashes?
I am new to Audacity so please try to understand my lack of understanding. I can record a record cut, export as WAV and name it then put in my windows media player- the next time I try, as soon as I hit export to WAV, the audacity program quits saying it shutting down unless windows finds a reason. It is a vista PC and the problem is intermittent. It occurs more than not.
