Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

noise reduction of an mpg video file

Post by natofargyle » Sat Aug 29, 2009 4:06 pm

My first use of audacity.
I was able to import the audio portion of an mpg video into audacity and successfully use the noise reduction tool to cleanup some fan noise.
But the completed audio track won't sync with the original video file ( I muted the original sound Track) Are there other ways to mate up the original video with the cleaned-up audio. I am running Vista and I used windows movie maker. Thanks

natofargyle,

I'm only guessing, but if the problem is simply that the audio has gotten slightly longer or shorter, could you correct the problem with Change Speed, or Change Tempo ?

I hope this helps.

Television sound is 48000, not 44100. Try changing Audacity to 48000, 16-bit, Stereo and then do the production.
