Access Violation Error Message

I downloaded the 1.2 version and got an error message then I downloaded the 1.3 version and got the same error, see below. Any ideas?

Access violation at address 00409942. Write of address 00400000.

These errors are common with 1.2.x under Windows Vista. I would try the current beta release.
