This forum is for Audacity on Windows.
Please state which version of Windows you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Help menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Not responding
The program is not responding often. I will push one button ie.. mute, unmute, record, etc and its says not responding and will not release for about 3-5 minutes.

Is that an English version of Windows, or another language?

I have the same problem since today last night it was working. (W10pro and Audacity 3.0.2)
I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program but it has the same problem.
The program opens but does not accept any commands. (Only the bar to show/hide the scroll ruler reacts. It moves by "picking it up" with the mouse)
In the lower left corner of the screen, it says "stopped". I tried to check the firewall and antivirus (Microsoft Defender) but I didn't find any blocks.
Help!!!!

Resolved!!!!! You need to uninstall the w10 update of May 13, 2121
Perhaps it is useful for developers to find out what the W10 update is about; sooner or later, it will install itself

Are you using a non-English version of Windows?

stuck again!!!
I opened it again and it's back stuck as before, it doesn't accept any command, not even on the commands for the size and closing of the window

I'm not sure if Italian Windows is affected by this or not, but there was a bug in a Windows update not long ago that caused these symptoms in some non-English Windows installations (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/top ... a68e328692)
Microsoft have now issued an update to fix the problem, so check that your Windows is fully updated.
