Ctrl+scroll doesn't zoom in?

Please state which version of macOS you are using,
and the exact three-section version number of Audacity from "Audacity menu > About Audacity".
Audacity 1.2.x and 1.3.x are obsolete and no longer supported. If you still have those versions, please upgrade at https://www.audacityteam.org/download/.
The old forums for those versions are now closed, but you can still read the archives of the 1.2.x and 1.3.x forums.

Which operating system are you using? (Your profile says Windows 10, but you have posted on the macOS board
)
If you are using a Mac, Hold down both ⌘ and Ctrl while using the scroll wheel.

No problem. If you use more than one OS, you can leave your profile at whichever you use most frequently, but if you post a question about the other OS, it will save confusion if you mention in the post which machine you are on.
