crash when apply effect

Help for Audacity on macOS.

crash when apply effect

I used Audacity to modify the sound effects on the MacOS Mojave. When I'm adding effect, just clicking OK might cause a crash. It happens so often that I have to restart Audacity to edit files. How to solve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How long is the show?
When was the last time you restarted your Mac?
How many other things do you have running?
Do you use iCloud or other on-line storage?

It happens roughly once every three files. The last time I restarted my Mac was a month ago. Usually I just run Unity, Visual Studio and Chrome. I don't use iCloud or other online storage.

All effects will be triggered and it seem to be completely random

Try rebooting the computer and see if that helps.
