"trlal verision"

Post by wadewilson30 » Tue Feb 23, 2021 6:48 pm

I continue to have this issue where audacity will allow me to record like normal for a period of time and then midst recording will stop recording my audio and fill it in with a female voice saying "trial version", ive tried uninstalling the software and redownloading it but the message just comes back. I was under the impression that there is no "trial version" per say and that this software was free ad available to the public.

Audacity is free and open source and there is no official trial version.

I recommend uninstalling what you have and then download & install the legitimate version linked from https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ (It takes you to fosshub.com for the actual download.)

...It's probably a good idea to run your anti-virus and/or anti-malware program just in case some other junk was installed or maybe something that will interfere with your legitimate Audacity installation.

I've heard of a similar complaint that turned out to be a trial version VST plug-in. If you have installed any plug-ins, then worth checking if any of those are trial versions.

Audacity itself (the official version) is free and without limits.
