Hallo,
I want to cut a large mp3 File (450Mb ; 15 hours) in 5 min parts. The parts shuould be saved in the right order.
Is that possible with Audacity?
If yes please explain it.
I use mac OS High Sierra 10.13.6 and Audacity 2.3.3

You could do that in Audacity, but Audacity will resample and reduce the sound quality while it's doing it. Much better one of the "pure" MP3 editors that doesn't resample the sound. MP3Cut??

This tutorial is about transferring LPs and tapes to digital, but the principle is the same.

If you want exactly 5 minutes (300 seconds), then you can
use "Regular Interval Labels" to add a label every 300 seconds (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/reg ... abels.html)
and then "Export Multiple" based on labels (see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/exp ... tiple.html)
