Audacity and Steinberg UR22 mkII Microphone Issue

Post by LichaDin » Fri Feb 19, 2021 9:17 pm

I am using a Windows 7 laptop and Audacity 2.4.1. When choosing the Input the option Line (Steinberg UR22) appears but for some reason it records the instrumental as I think it connects to the outpot. Everything else is plugged in correctly. There are no other options. I also choose the line as a default device but that makes no changes as only the Laptop microhpone appears in the option.

Please help my friends.

Make sure you haven't selected a "loopback" device.

Caveat. Steinberg has a vested interest in promoting its own ASIO USB protocol. Audacity does *not* ship with ASIO support for licensing reasons. So you may be better off with another audio program such as cakewalk or reaper.

Having said that, there are newer drivers available on the Steinberg site that you can try downloading to see if they correct the issue:

Here is the USB driver: https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/do ... river.html
and the latest firmware: https://www.steinberg.net/en/support/do ... 22mk2.html

I hope this helps. :D
