Hi everyone,
I have audacity downloaded onto my computer which is windows 10. I am recording my song in parts, I am not doing every thing in one day. The problem is I don’t know what the effects I have made for my first recording, it’s sounds really good. When I recorded my next parts, I changed the compressor and reverb like I did for my first recording (kept the same effects), but their is still something missing that’s in my first recording and isn’t in my next recordings. How do I find out what it is?
Sorry hope I haven’t confused anyone!
Thanks

The usual way to do this avoids the problem completely - do all of the recording before you begin processing.
Note that even doing it that way, you have to take great care to use exactly the same recording set up each time - just having a microphone in a different position can change the sound.
To answer your question directly:

It's too late now
Steps that you could have taken at the time:
You could have documented exactly what you did.
You could have saved the settings in each effect as presets (see:
https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/manage_presets.html).
