I am not able to record on my MAC. My Behringer UMC22 plays straight away on my windows computer, but having upgraded I now realise the Apple product is so much more complicated to use.
When I start Audacity, the timeline arrows are red and nothing happens when I press record button. I can hear myself through speak through the mic in the earphones but no recording is possible

Ensure that you are using the current version of Audacity (see: https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/)
and ensure that Audacity has permission to use the microphone (see: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/m ... b1e1fe/mac)
