Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Firewire Connection

Post by wusprod » Sun Oct 21, 2007 9:08 pm

I have a Phonic Firewire 18 MKII mixer using VISTA. Audacity does not recognize any of my firewire inputs. I also have Cubase LE and it does recognize my Firewire connection. I can not find the setting that will allow me to change from mike to line to ASIO Firewire inputs.

Please help. I love this software and want to use it with my new Firewire connection.

Audacity OOTB will not recognize/use ASIO drivers - IIRC it's down to the IPR disortibtion rights. I do remener a while ago reading something either on the forum or the wiki instructions for how to make Audacity work with ASIO drivers.

You'll have to recompile the program from source if you want ASIO support. Or talk Steinburg into releasing it to the public.

Here's the wiki page:
