I am recording some old Beatle albums such as Lonely Hearts Club Band
During many songs the voice is almost inaudible in the recording, yet when I listen over headphones while recording (thus bypassing Audacity system) it is clear as day. Do I have some incorrect settings going on? Stereo - Mono - panning ??
Thanks

Re: Loss of signal in one channel
I assume this is a vinyl LP?
Is that one of The Beatles albums with the vocals on one side and the instruments on the other? Or are the vocals in the "center"?
How are you connected to the computer? If you have separate left & right connections (somewhere) disconnect one at a time to see what happens.

Something to try: RIght-click on the speaker icon in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Select Open Sound Settings. Select your input device and click on Device Properties. Now, click on Additional Device Properties. Then select the Listen tab and click on Listen to this device. Is the problem present here? Also, turn OFF microphone boost and Enhancements.
It is also possible that one of your tracks is inverted for some reason. Are you making a stereo recording? Is the problem present after a Tracks > Mix > Mix and Render" ? If so, Edit > Undo, on the stereo track dropdown menu: Split Stereo To Mono, select top track, Effects > Invert, top track dropdown: Make Stereo Track. Then try your Mix and Render again. Good Luck.
