recording my old vinyl records

Post by adbird » Sat Sep 05, 2020 5:58 pm

Hallo, sorry for my English but I'm Dutch speaking. I work with Apple/Catalina 10.15.6. Since a few days I updated the previous Audacity to the new 2.4.2.
My problem is that when I want to recording my LP, the Pauze-button can't be disabled. The moment I push the recording button, the pauze button prevent further action and the little triangle, just above the timeline becomes red instead of green. In the previous version there was no problem to record the sound and the inter-track gap (silence between two tracks ?). Now there is no recording of this and the sound comes a few seconds after the start and I lose a lot of record moments. I hope I made myself understandable. Thank you for your help.

You have probably accidentally enabled "Sound Activated Recording".
Turn it off in "Transport menu > Transport options > Sound Activated Recording (on/off)"
(for more information, see: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tra ... tions.html)
