FINAL solution to Microphone problems in W10

Post by braxx20 » Fri Jul 03, 2020 7:50 pm

(SORRY the original topic is Blocked so have to report here)

I kept running into the Notorious error code " -9999 " and spent countless HOURS trying to get my recording ability back! I followed the instructions to "unmute the microphone but ran into horrible FEEDBACK . The reason I had been unsuccessful was that I needed a more complete instruction but I finally stumbled upon the solution by luck.
HERE IS THE FINAL SOLUTION:
Yes, you DO unmute the microphone but you must also HIGHLIGHT Audacity - there is NO sidebar to allow just Audacity to be accessed and that is why I was having the feedback. I hope this helps all the others that struggled like me to get my recording ability back!

Hello there,

Same problem here, but never thought I would visit a forum fix it so quick! Wow... took me soooo much time with no result. Thank you. Highlighting worked with me too.

Best Wishes,

Peter
