lost audio (sound) while recording is visible

the setting is a sermon recording, about 45 min. The Aud. recording works great for 37min and then the sound stops while I can still view the recording. Nothing wrong with speakers as I can hear other programs. As the recording continues small sounds can be heard at times. This same thing happend to a recording several weeks ago but 4 or 5 have been recorded with no problems.

Where are we in time? You captured the performance and you're playing it back now, or it's doing funny things while you capture? Is this before or after you Saved Project? I can't tell from the question.
