Hi,
I am new to the forum, but I am using Audacity for a very long time.
Recently I've installed Ubuntu 20.04, and installed Audacity 2.3.3 on it using the default apt repository.
Now it works, but the small buttons at each end of the horizontal scroller do not exist.
However, I can see and use these buttons in Ubuntu 18.04.
What can I do?

If you feel strongly enough about it, you could complain to Ubuntu, though I expect it will be wasted effort. There's a trend in modern GUI design away from those buttons - look at Firefox as an example.
Alternatively you could look to see if any of the available Desktops for Ubuntu 20 still use those buttons (Xfce doesn't).
