I am using a brand new HP Pavilion laptop running Windows 10, Audacity 2.3.3, and Source Connect 3.8. I am using a Sennheiser 416 running through a Yamaha AG03. Audacity is my recording DAW of choice. It runs fine alone. I recently updated my Source Connect application to 3.8. I had never run Audacity and Source Connect at the same time on a Windows 10 machine. There is apparently a driver issue, so if I am using to Source Connect to send a session to a remote client for them to record, everything works fine, But if I want to run Audacity at the same time to create a backup recording, it gives me an error message about the devise not being available (sorry, I neglected to save a screen shot of the error message). The Source Connect support suggests that I use a different DAW like Audition. Source Connect apparently has a VST plugin that you can use in Audition to start Source Connect from within Audition (Source-Live for VST. Source-Live VST is compatible with standard VST hosts.). Is there a way to install the Source Connect plugin (Source-Live VST) into Audacity so I can use the source connect tool/ recording capability from within Audacity?
Thanks,

Re: Audacity won't record when Source Connect is running in Windows 10
Audacity does not support "real-time" processing. I'm in agreement with Source Connect support that you need to use a DAW (Audacity is a multi-track audio "editor" rather than a "real-time DAW").
