Split stereo
Audacity 2.3.3, Win10Pro64. Can someone please explain the difference between "split stereo track" and "split stereo to mono?" Thank you.
Re: Split stereo
"Split Stereo Track" creates two mono tracks, the upper one is panned hard left, the lower one is panned hard right. It sounds identical to the stereo track.
"Split Stereo to mono" creates two mono tracks, both centre panned. It sounds like two mono tracks.

Re: Split stereo
Steve... Thank you for the reply. Other than the initial positions of the pan sliders, the two options seem identical. If I chose "split stereo tracks", and then center the pan sliders, the results don't appear, or sound, any different to me that selecting "split stereo to mono." Am I missing something?
Re: Split stereo
That's correct.
