Clicking during audio

Post by 561648 » Fri Feb 21, 2020 7:26 pm

Hiya,

I'm having problems with some clicking/popping (???) in the background of my audio. I'm making a radio drama so the dialogue is a pretty important aspect, but with the clicking, it sounds pretty bad and I don't know how to make it usable. I've tried using both the click removal and noise reduction effects (though I prob didn't use them right) and they just make the audio muffled. Increasing the volume and bass/treble helps sometimes, but otherwise just emphasises the clicking.

I'm such a beginner w/ Audacity and can't really think of any other ways to solve it - rerecording the audio is not an option at this point, and I want to avoid scrapping it wherever possible. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd really appreciate 'em! I've attached an example of what I mean.

Thank you in advance!
