sliders and playback cursor not displaying correctly

Post by ebeling » Fri Jan 17, 2020 2:04 am

This may be a problem with whatever graphics library audacity uses, but I don't know where else to ask for help.

1) The cursor that usually moves along the waveform as you play or record isn't updated except when you click in the track window or scroll with the mouse.
2) When interacting with the sliders (volume, pan, volume and playback speed) a black box comes up. However, the dialog box displays correctly when double clicking on a slider.
Occasionally there is also a problem with the textbox for selecting a file name when exporting files. It doesn't refresh properly as text is typed in.

I'm running audacity 2.3.3 on fedora 31 as installed with the distribution. In fact, this problem occured only yesterday after a system update even though I have had 2.3.3 installed since its release. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Oddly enough, the update included Audacity, and a few other minor things. But I'm quite sure I already had version 2.3.3 installed. I don't know how to access the history of these updates, so I can't be more precise than that.

I don't know Fedora, but Google tells me: https://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/ ... -undo-new/

Unfortunately that doesn't tell me anything.
I don't know enough about OpenSuse to be much help. I think your best bet is from the OpenSuse people: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bug_reporting_FAQ
