Recording position

Post by david22 » Wed Jan 08, 2020 9:06 pm

After I pull in an MP3 to record around, the audio position is at 00h00m00s. Yet when I hit record it starts recording at the end of the MP3. I cannot figure out why this is happening.

Please, somebody help.

To start recording on a new track see Audacity preferences>recording>options ...

I'm having this issue too. I had a look at https ://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recording_preferences.html however I'm not seeing the solution there.
What am I missing?

Thanks

Shift+R and plain R are the difference between recording on a new track and starting at the end of the old track.

You can reverse those in Preferences > Recording > Record a new track.
